Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

Disruptions are inevitable, but your business can’t afford downtime. Minimize the impact of disruption, no matter how small or large and recover within minutes of an outage with Veeam Cloud Connect and Microsoft Azure Disaster Recovery as a Service

Backup is nothing without recovery. In the event of a partial or total, localized or widespread failure – Cloud Backup ensures that your data is safe and secure. But recovering from backup can take days and sometimes weeks when factoring in securing a site, securing replacement hardware, rebuilding machines and restoring from backup. Delays which can mean your Business downtime is expensive. Disaster Recovery As A Service provides continuous replication of critical applications, infrastructure, data and systems for rapid recovery after an IT outage - helping ensure you can recover from a failure in minutes instead of days or weeks.

Minimizing Downtime

Partial-site failover to instantly switch over to selected VM replicas only

Partial site outages are extremely common and can happen due to hardware failures, software errors, environmental failures such as power outages or local flooding. As an example, suppose your users are in the office, connected to your ERP application – going about their daily tasks. The ERP server experiences a hardware failure and your team loses connection to the application.

With the support of active replication and disaster recovery, an exact copy of the ERP is running in Microsoft Azure. At the point of failure, you can immediately fail over to a standby replica running in Microsoft Azure. All user traffic is automatically redirected to the new instance of the ERP. With Recovery Point Objectives of < 15 minutes for ALL applications and data, Veeam Availability Suite ensures your users resume working as expected within minutes – not days, helping avoid downtime of your critical workloads.

"We wanted a business continuity plan for recovery for the business systems we need to run the Airport, but without the expense of commissioning and maintaining secondary infrastructure… Cloud (Microsoft Azure) proved to be much more cost efficient but simultaneously offer the kind of innovation, flexibility, scalability and agility that Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport needed"

Ensuring Business Continuity

Full-site failover to a remote DR site from anywhere through a secure web portal

Full site outages caused be factors such as natural disasters, office fires or flooding are thankfully less common than partial outages but can be much more damaging.

In this instance, suppose a faulty wire in the server room causes a short circuit, damaging critical electrical components and disabling access to all servers within the server room. With the support of Azure Site Recovery, failover to the Disaster Recovery instances in Microsoft Azure are triggered immediately leaving users with little to no business interruption. Users will be able to access their applications either from the corporate network or from any public internet access once a public IP has been assigned to the DR network.

”By using Azure Site Recovery, we are there for our customers when they need us most. If disaster strikes, instead of our business being disabled for three to five days, we can be running again in minutes."
